Vanilla Caramel Sauce
If available, try using vanilla bean paste and sea salt in this recipe. These ingredients will heighten the flavor, although the caramel sauce will be delicious regardless!

Ingredients

(8 ounces) brown sugar
1/2
cup
half and half
4
tablespoons
butter
1/2
teaspoon
flaky sea salt (if substituting regular salt, use 1/4 teaspoon)
2
teaspoons
vanilla bean paste (may use pure vanilla extract)
Instructions
Combine sugar, half and half, butter, and salt in a saucepan, and place over medium-low heat.
Cook, stirring occasionally, for 6-8 minutes or until all the sugar is dissolved.
Add the vanilla and cook another minute.
Remove from heat and allow sauce to cool.
Transfer to a jar and store in the refrigerator. Gently reheat before serving.
