about

Welcome! My name is Ann Fulton, and I’m the author, recipe developer, and cook behind The Fountain Avenue Kitchen.

The Fountain Avenue Kitchen was actually my grandmother’s kitchen. It was the place where I first pulled up a stool and watched this amazingly funny and frugal woman who worked all day come home and turn simple, fresh ingredients into culinary wonders. The meals weren’t fancy but were always delicious. In my modern-day Fountain Avenue Kitchen, I create easy recipes aimed to fit into our crazy, hectic lifestyles. The recipes are designed to be healthy and delicious, include lots of make-ahead components, and provide options based on individual tastes and dietary needs. Of course, my mom always said “Everything in moderation,” so you can bank on the occasional treat. In addition, most of the recipes are gluten-free or can be easily modified to be so.

I’m the proud mom of John and Christian, and along with my husband Jack, they have proved to be the best taste testers a recipe developer could hope for. We love to hike, play games, and travel together when possible. My favorite meals are seared salmon over a really good kale salad and baked oatmeal with blueberries and vanilla yogurt. For dessert? Always ice cream!

In addition to authoring this blog, Ann is a health partner and featured recipe contributor for Lancaster General Health Penn Medicine. Ann’s Fountain Avenue Kitchen column appeared weekly for the better part of a decade in The Lancaster Sunday News and later LNP. She has done recipe development and consulting for a variety of national and regional food companies as well as local restaurants. Ann is also a regular contributor to Susquehanna Style magazine and several TV news shows, has worked with school groups, and been the featured speaker at various events…and she’s delighted you found your way here!
