A quick and easy alternative to tzatziki sauce, this creamy condiment is both nutritious and delicious!
A condiment with protein, wholesome fats, and calcium may seem like an outlier compared to many dressings and sauces, but this speedy sauce, which can be used much like tzatziki sauce, is all that and more.
With a base of Greek yogurt, a spoonful of tahini, lemon juice, and a few key spices, this sauce is creamy and tangy with a subtle hint of nuttiness. Water is added to achieve your desired constistency, whether that be spoon-able or drizzle-able.
I started making this sauce for these CAVA-like bowls, but it’s just as good on Greek Gyros and Chicken Gyro Bowls. It’s also delicious mashed into a baked potato, tossed with salmon or chicken, cucumbers, tomatoes, and chickpeas for a quick meal, or drizzled over a variety of other veggie- and grain-based salads.
Enjoy a savory breakfast? For a fresh take on the usual yogurt, fruit, and granola bowl, start with the yogurt tahini sauce, then think of your add-ins like colors on a painter’s palette: leftover roasted veggies, cooked grains, chickpeas, nuts, seeds, and other proteins such as salmon, chicken, or tinned fish. Choose a few favorites, then mix it all up so the creamy sauce coats every bite.

The yogurt tahini sauce is also delicious with
- Chicken Shawarma
- Chicken Gyros
- Greek Chicken Gyro Bowls
- Mediterranean Chicken & Hummus Bowls
- Crispy Baked Chicken Thighs
- Greek-Style Lemon Potatoes
- Crispy Baked Eggplant
- Air Fryer Mini Peppers
