You Do Blue – Nail Polish
A fun nail polish color can be a little mood lifter, and this is a pretty Essie shade is a great choice to take us from summer to fall. Ann purchased it at CVS earlier this summer and has gotten lots of compliments – and the shade of blue seems to complement everything. The color name is you do blue!

Large Moving Bags
Working on a plan to move kids into their college dorm rooms? These moving box bags are perfect when you have to lug a whole lot of stuff from one place to another. Customizable Birthday Banners
Ann put up a happy birthday banner for everyone in her house for every birthday until her kids went off to college. It offers a festive way to start the day, and you can reuse the banner over and over. After a while, it becomes birthday tradition! You can customize colors and themes through Etsy for about $25, depending on design. Stick with the basic “happy birthday,” or personalize with a name if you prefer.

New Lunch Box
In our Favorite Things – Lunch Edition! we reviewed the popular lunch boxes for both adults and kids. The New York Times just did a review and the results are in – and our picks are still in there! Emily uses the personalized Pottery Barn Classic Lunch Box for ease, space, and the choice of fun patterns. She puts the Bentgo Kids Lunch Box inside for ease in carrying when the kids bring their lunch to the cafeteria.

Here's our favorite ways to pack lunch this year. It’s all about sustainability, temperature control, and smart packaging!

Silicone Oven Rack Shields
Everyone has done it, and it’s just the worst. When you reach in the oven excited to pull out your yummy dish, when – zing! – your arm ever-so-slightly grazes the oven rack. And those burn marks take forever to go away! Save your forearms with this protective covering pack, which comes with three heat resistant strips for $8.95. The strips can be cut to fit any oven rack size. They can also be easily removed for cleaning and are dishwasher safe.

Pimple Coverage (for the teen in your life!)
Don’t let those little red irritants get you down. We all get them, and it may be a new badge of honor for your teen this school year. One of Ann’s nieces uses them, and she and her friends think they are really cool. And they really are fun.

Starface Hydro-Stars are available at some drug stores and on Amazon for $14.97. Simply place a little star (or other shape) sticker over the pimple to prevent picking and to expedite healing, as the sticker also helps to dry out the blemish!

The Go-To Outfit
It’s good to have some go-to daily wear for days when you just want to be comfy. Ann loves the Momentum Seamless Tee from Athleta, and right now some colors are on sale for $29.99 (down from $69!). With no hem line grippers and stay-in-place fit, the t-shirt is great for lower impact walks as well as higher impact gym workouts.

Same goes for the Athleta Brooklyn Skort 16″, which is a staple for walking, travel, work, whatever. It comes in a bunch of fun colors, and many are also on sale for $25.99 down from $59.

Favorite Shows & Documentaries – Sports Theme
For those who like watching sports or learning about new ones, these shows have captivated us this year. Tour de France: Unchained on Netflix follows several cycling teams as they compete in the big race. Break Point on Netflix, Emily’s personal favorite, would be great to watch before the U.S. Open this month, as it takes us behind the scenes of high level players as they struggle with the physical and emotional toll on the tour.

Similarly, Full Swing on Netflix, takes a look at the personal and professional lives of golfers. It also does a good job at covering the LIV Golf controversy, especially in light of the many headlines it has generated this year. We’re also looking forward to watching Stephen Curry: Underrated on Apple TV, which promises to be a fantastic story of a self-described scrawny kid who becomes an NBA MVP!

And while the English Game on Netflix is a drama, it’s a good story about 19th century footballers – and Julian Fellowes (from Downton Abbey!) is one of the creators.
